We are an informal group of citizens united in holding City Officials accountable for their actions. All residents of Centerville are welcome to speak out and be heard here. Centerville consistently ranks in the top three highest taxed cities in Minnesota, there is no dedicated road maintenance fund and the assessments keep coming! “I don’t think there’s any way we could ever budget enough to not assess people for improvements.” Council Member Jeff Paar. Will you do this every year? I hope so! It is very worth while and a testament to what a small community is supposed to be.
For the first time in a long time I feel like I am a part of something bigger and not on an island all alone.
You would think that the city would have thought of this a long time ago. With all the wasteful spending on lawyers, lawsuits, engineers and study groups.
Thank you for stepping up to the plate!
I applaud you!
very cool
That's nice to know about the food shelf. The City only lists information for Hugo residents online.
Who does their website? Maybe they should hire you people.
We had not heard about the Hauer family tragedy. We are so sorry for their loss. To the Hauer family: Our thoughts & prayers are with you! May the Lord be near you & bless each of you this Christmas!
They don't mention anything about the toy drive either.
Too busy getting ready for that audit, I guess...
Very nice about the adopt a family stuff. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!
"To the Hauer family: Our thoughts & prayers are with you! May the Lord be near you & bless each of you this Christmas!"
Ditto! That says it all!
OMG! The City website is trying to keep up with you guys. Checked it today and they are FINALLY adding information that benefits our local residents. They even copied your green and red text!
As always, they are a day late and a dollar short!
Keep on keeping them on their toes.
Hysterical!
Their priorities were all about the ribbon cutting ceremony before they got publicly spanked by this blog.
How does that old saying go?
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery?
Public servants, my foot!
You people are calling them out and making them more accountable to the public they serve.
THANK YOU!
Yep! Today they added the Main Street Bank in big, bold green text!
Maybe we should cut them a break. They have been busy worrying about a state audit, in court for special assessment challenges and diligently working on a ribbon cutting ceremony. (sarcasm)
Sorry for the Hauer family tragedy. (sincere)
Let's show how many big hearts are in this small town!
Dear Hauer Family,
We never knew Jay but reading the comments from people that did brought tears to our eyes.
You have much support in this community. Hopefully that brings you some comfort.
God Bless each and everyone in your family at this very difficult time.
We are so sorry for your loss.
Is there some way for this blog to be kept as the first listed item on the blog, at lease until after Christmas?
