Resident Looking For Hope and Change

Email; Friday, August 20, 2010 2:42 PM
Hello,
(I hope I can get the word out to your viewers) I was recently told by Tom Wilharber himself that he has had enough and is running for mayor this fall. Tom was the mayor when I moved to Centerville about 16 years ago. Centerville , back then, had the small town charm and friendly people young couples look for when buying their first home. The city council was focused on keeping Centerville a happy place to live. Tom Wilharber was a strong leader and helped keep Centerville the place we all loved. As the years passed I saw the small town start to slowly erode. Taxes, spending, etc. all were on the rise. The new members of the city council did not continue on with the city character we all moved here for. Things need to start turning back around and Tom Wilharber can help us do that.
Thank you,
Mike Schweitzer
Centerville, MN

We were NOT 13 million in debt when I moved here in 1997. Actually, I chose to purchase my home due to the moderate property taxes. I now wish I had chosen Lino Lakes where the crazies are currently not running the asylum!
Why would anyone choose to hire a City Administrator that was let go from his last job in Cannon Falls (Dallas Larson) on a 5-0 vote of no confidence? It seems that it's all just a little bit of history is repeating itself.
Go Tom Wilharber!!! Hopefully he can help the resident OUTRAGEOUSLY assessed for a developers development that was a former P and Z member and friendly with City officials!
Story titled "One Resident Questions Why" We should all question why!!
Check out the links at the bottom!
TRANSPARENT AND DISGUSTING!!

My votes for Tom! Tom I sure hope you have the guts to deal with the city administrator and hand him his walking papers!! Good Riddens Administrator; Hello Tom!!

Totally agree with Anonymous @ 11:07!
I hope Tom has the guts too but it will take a majority to ditch the administrator. Cannon Falls got rid of Dallas on a 5-0 vote. Why did we even hire this dude? SERIOUSLY!! It's time to stop the insanity!
What has been happening in Centerville is a shame.

I agree wholeheartedly that Tom Wilharber should be the next Mayor. However, it will take a majority to help Tom make those changes. Therefore, it is with the utmost importance that we also choose our next two council members wisely. Have your questions ready when they come around campaigning. One of my votes will go to Steve King. He has been a resident for 28 years and felt compelled to run because, not only is he frustrated, but he also feels the frustration of the people. He understands. He is one of us. He has a strong moral backbone and he doesn't back down easy. Maybe between Tom and Steve they will begin to return this City back to the people. Ooh did I just say that!

I agree Mike, this is not a big city, never will be, and most of all, NO ONE who chose to live here wants it to be!! This is a "bedroom community" and does not have the capacity to be anything else - but again, that's why we opted to live here!!

Did you all know.......

2005: Centerville's debt was $3 Million.
(Mary Capra became Mayor)

2010: Centerville's debt is now over $14 Million and growing!
(Capra is still "serving" as Mayor)

Really folks, does ANYTHING else need to be said?

I believe D Love is in the Old Boys Club. We need him out and new blood in.

This city is "Who you know" Not "What you know" This has to change.

Let's put in the two new candidates for council and a new mayor, Tom.
